Writing Prompts 2

Darcy stares out the window, scrutinizing the snow still swirling to the ground. It has snowed enough to effectively cover the deep gouges in the lawn but she knows they are there. Darn high school kids and their 4-wheelers. Come spring the tracks will still be there and her mother’s rose bush will never be the same.

Pensively she rubs her chest, the buried ache rising up once again. He left deep gouges too and she wonders that her heart still beats.

She picks up another sock to darn and sucks in her breath as the needle pricks her finger.

(using the prompts: "someone who has broken something that cannot be repaired" and "the story of the scar")

I found these writing prompts on this blog under her January Contest tab. Using the prompts and following the 100 word limit, these are what I've crafted over the last couple of days.
